The two words are the same to me, would someone explain their difference?
Here is the definition of 'réécrire' from the Académie française:
a footnote says -
You can also say - récrire
They are synonymous and both are acceptable according to most modern dictionaries.
Réécrire is a relatively recent form as can be seen in this graphic: https://books.google.com/ngrams/graph?content=réécrire%2C+récrire&case_insensitive=on&year_start=1800&year_end=2000&corpus=19&smoothing=3&share=&direct_url=t4%3B%2Créécrire%3B%2Cc0%3B%2Cs0%3B%3Bréécrire%3B%2Cc0%3B%3BRéécrire%3B%2Cc0%3B.t4%3B%2Crécrire%3B%2Cc0%3B%2Cs0%3B%3Brécrire%3B%2Cc0%3B%3BRécrire%3B%2Cc0
