se sentir with adjective

se sentir with adjective

According to the lesson it's OK to use an adjective instead of an adverb with se sentir, but the explanation seems too nebulous for my liking. Why is "je me sens malade maintenant " wrong... is "maintenant" the keyword?

Bonjour Stephen,

You were asked to fill the gap to say 'I feel unwell now'

Je ____ maintenant

and were given multiple choices between

me sens mal / sens mauvais /sens mal / me sens mauvais

Only one fits:

me sens mal.

This is not a freestyle exercise, but of course in everyday situations, you could say different things, including what you suggest and

Je ne me sens pas bien.

Hope this helps!
