Sens ou l’odeur ?
This question relates to:French lesson "Describing senses with "sentir" - The different meanings of the verb "sentir" in French"
Asked 10 months ago
Bonjour Ulrike,
In the context of expressing the sense of smell, you will first use "sentir".
However, you may use "avoir l'odeur de [quelque chose]" if you want to have a specific smell :
Je veux avoir l'odeur de la vanille dans mon parfum. = I want to have the smell of vanilla in my perfume.
I hope this is helpful.
Bonne journée !
