Le chanteur a interprété trois chansons, dont une qu'il avait écrit spécialement pour l'occasion.

I don't think so. Why? dont (of which -- complément d'object indirect) therefore "une chanson of the three" is an indirect object.
This is my understanding of the text.

I think you are right, Tina, and it should be écrite. The verb écrire takes a direct object, which, in this sentence, is que (referring to la chanson). Therefore, the participle needs to agree in number and gender with la chanson.
