So as to get the pronunciation correct..

In your recordings I sometimes hear the liaison of the t to the à and sometimes I do not. Should there be a pronunciation of the t onto the à?

After all, if I'm going to learn French I need to pronounce it properly

Hi Martin, 

This is a much bigger question than you could possibly know. 

These are called 'liaisons' and there are three types of liaisons - mandatory, forbidden, and optional.

The ones referring to this lesson are optional. Take a look at my answer to a similar question asked by another user -
