Spelling question - fraiche or fraîches?

Which spelling is correct "fraiches" or "fraîches"?  Treatment in the exercise and the finished text is inconsistent.

Bonjour James,

Thank you for your comment! Both spellings are correct as per Maarten's explanation and Kwizbot should not have corrected it. I have reported this issue to our team.

I hope this is helpful.

Bonne journée !

James,

both are correct with ‘ fraiche/s ‘ being the reformed spelling and ‘ fraîche/s ‘ still in common use.

Many words in French have 2 officially accepted spellings, as spelling reforms of 1990 are in use but there has not been universal adoption of them.

Words ‘ traditionally ‘ containing a circonflexe letter in them have mostly changed, although some have an obligatory circonflexe still.
