The position of délicieux in relation to the noun it is describing.

Why is "délicieux" placed before the noun in  A great weekend and A Thanksgiving gift, "un délicieux repas" but after the noun in A romantic trip to Paris "des vins délicieux"

Délicieux can be put before or after the noun. The more common place is after the noun. Putting it before the noun is a bit more refined and a slightly higher register.

Bonjour Kay,

To supplement Chris's excellent answer, here is a list of French adjectives (non exhaustive) which can be placed before or after the noun: adorable, délicieux, étonnant, extraordinaire, horrible, fantastique, magnifique, superbe, stupide, splendide.

Also, placing such an adjective before the noun helps highlight the feeling / opinion expressed.

I hope this is helpful.

Bonne journée !
