For “competition” I used the word concours instead of compétition; is there any problem with that?

Translation of “competition”
This question relates to:French writing exercise "The Roland-Garros tournament"

Bonjour Richard,
Here, the word "compétition" is correct. In French, "concours" refers to a contest where candidates are judged or selected, usually by a jury or through an exam:
Un concours de cuisine = A cookery competition
Un concours de beauté = A beauty pageant
Un concours d'entrée à une école = An entry test to a school
I hope this is helpful.
Bonne journée !
