I am not sure if by 2.6 you are meaning the subdivisions used in documentation when in French you would use the point.

Do you mean the date which, interpreting it the American way, would be 6 February? The French way would be 2 June. The decimal point in French numbers is a comma, not a point. The number "2.6" would be written as 2,6 and spoken as deux virgule six.
