Is there any difference in the meaning between "Gendre" and "Beau-fils"???

Both terms are defined in the Académie-française dictionary, and in multiple online dictionaries.

Both apply to son-in-law. Gendre  is an older term, but both have been in use for centuries. Beau-fils also applies to stepson, a difference.
