Why is it not "que je me suis endormi " here?

Hi Truc Thanh,

It is called the subjunctive ( a mood with many tenses but you will use principally the present and the past).

Here in the example, you quote it is because of -

jusqu'à ce que = until

and the Kwiziq lesson you want to look at is the following one -

Jusqu'à ce que + Le Subjonctif = Until [someone] does [something]

which contains links to the subjunctive for you to peruse.
