What is wrong here?
This question relates to:French lesson "Conjugate voir and derivatives in the present tense in French (Le Présent)"
Asked 3 years ago
Hi mark,
Actually , two different expressions are used for the cats examples -
Voir dans le noir = To see in the dark
Voir la nuit = To see at night
So if you look at the examples again; you will see what I mean.

Hi Mark,
I imagine the answer is that "Cats see at night" is a kind of generic fact. There is no need for a preposition (dans).
Of course, it is not exclusive to grey cats.
Hope this helps?

I would think that "Les chats voient bien la nuit" expresses cats, grey or otherwise, ability to see well at night?
