When asked if feminine and masculine

Question

On test the question was to mark those words that were masculine. I marked carpe. It is both feminine and masculine. The answer was wrong. I should have gotten it marked as being correct. Trick question about word endings.

The exercise is about the grammatical gender of the word carpe, which is always feminine (e.g., la carpe),even when talking about a male specimen of the fish. Yvonne is correct - ' carpe ' is a noun with different meanings depending on grammatical gender.
