I think Deborah is asking why the 2ND clause is NOT in the conditional tense in the sentence which uses the verb savoir. It threw me at first also.
The key to the lesson though is that "imperfait" is used in the SI clause of the sentence and "conditionnel" is used in the 'would/could' dependent clause of the sentence, regardless of the ORDER of the clauses. Often the 'SI' clause comes first BUT not ALWAYS.
