why use "`a" for in instead of en, as in " I live in Paris ".
This question relates to:French lesson "Je becomes j' with verbs beginning with a vowel in French (Elision)"

Hi Janis,
I assume that you are referring to the verb "habiter"?
When using habiter to express "to live in (an area)" there is a preposition required and that preposition is à "J'habite à Paris".
"en" is not appropriate in this context.
Bonne continuation,
Jim

Bonjour Janis,
To supplement Jim's answer, here is the link on this very topic:
J'habite à + [ville] = I live in + [city] in French
I hope this is useful.
Bonne journée !
