Question

1) Introduction uses "de la laine" for wool, but when used the answer uses "de laine." The intro is not consistent with the lesson.

2) hint "chapeau" = winter hat, answer uses bonnet and marks chapeau wrong.

Bonjour William,
As this is a writing exercise, the vocabulary at the beginning of the exercise is entirely written in English. So, I could not find an instance of "de la laine" other than "wool" (which means "laine"). Also, the hint is "hat" = winter hat and not "chapeau" = winter hat. Furthermore, the word "chapeau" is not generally associated with winter but rather summer/spring. Here, it is about winter-themed exercise. Therefore, "chapeau" won't be accepted.

I understand where your response is coming from, but in fact there are many native French sites advertising ‘ chapeaux d’hiver ‘, and ‘ le bonnet ‘ is only one of a number of styles on offer.
