pourquoi est-ce si frustrant?

Bonjour,

Je suis encore jeune pour ouvrir ce truc, je sais! mais le problème, c’est que demain j’ai un examen d’entrée pour une école française et que les questions sont très difficiles pour mon niveau.

The way I understand devoir, it can mean inevitability in the imparfait such as Il eva it perdre un jour. in the test question, the answer for she had

to replace him was "Elle a dû" vs if it was inevitable, shouldn't "Elle devait" be correct as well?

Bonjour Madame Aurélie !

Thanks for designing such a great worksheet on this topic.

But could you please help me with these sentences -

1. L’endroit qui m’a enchanté au dessus de tout, .........

2. Nous nous sommes proménes dans ses jardins merveilleux .......

In the first sentence , I used ‘imparfait’ as I interpreted it as a state of mind which the narrator was in of being mesmerized . Secondly, I had used ‘imparfait’ in the second sentence after reading your lesson that ‘l’imparfait’ is used for describing the scene , characters , setting of the phrase. Please provide the reasons why Kwizbot marked me incorrect .

Je n'en attendais pasAs Judy and Marnie ask. What does the en replace? I am assuming a structue like 'attendre qqch de qqn'. With the de vous for 'de qqn' the end. Is there an implied phrase such as 'I expected nothing less (of this service) from you'?

Gérondif examples "by"

This lesson says to use the gerund to express "while" AND "by". But all your examples use "while"...small thing but it would help the learning process if the examples would demonstrate both usages!

Que je vous ai achetée" for me mens that I bought you (FOR you) not FROM you. Would you please explain why one wouldn't say "que j'ai acheté DE vous". Thanks!

"In a Clothes Store" writing test

Bonjour Aurélie et Cécile,

My problem is with this phrase in the above writing lesson

"...jacket that I bought FROM you two weeks ago." Correct translation given is :"que je vous ai achetée il y a deux semaines."

I can't find the lesson describing this usage of object pronouns. Why is it not "que j'ai acheté DE vous"? Does not "que je vous ai acheté" mean that I bought FOR you? Please explain using FROM in this context. Thanks!
