Is this a good summary?

Been looking at this for a long time. Conclusion is if you want to write a sentence using a/the/my , Or making a general opinion then use c'est. Otherwise use I'll/Elle est to make a specific opinion towards something/someone if there is no a/the/my in the sentence?

So, the Lesson says that each case of Etre being the auxiliary, repasser is followed by a preposition. Example ONE has no preposition (in French)??

The reason given for the imparfait in "mes mains n'arrêtait pas de trembler" is continuing action, but the lesson teaches that continuing action

would translate as: mes mains were not stopping trembling. I get very confused over this particular usage. Most of the use of imparfait that I get wrong are due to this rule. Could you explain it better?
