Bonjour, Aurélie. I have a question. Why is it "tu as minci depuis l'année dernière" and not "tu mincis.."? In another lesson, it says that when using depuis the must be in the present tense. Merci beaucoup pour vos leçons. ^^

Would this be a correct parallel to GermanIs there anyone speaking German here? Because I couldn't get my head around the explanation given in this lesson. It just seems very difficult to explain to a native English speaker. However, I get the impression that "attendre" would translate to "warten" in German whereas "s'attendre à" corresponds to "erwarten". The former simply is a statement while the latter is putting the focus more on what you're waiting for. -- Chris.

So a compound colour always reverts to the masculine form?

I think the answer is wrong...Should the translaten of "Don't go to bed yet" not be "Ne vous couchez pas encore" instead of only "Ne vous couchez pas" ? Methinks the "yet" isn't captured by the second translation. -- Chris.

une douzaine = ?I looked this up in Larousse online, and Collins Fr/En dictionary online. I was trying to figure out how to say "I want a dozen eggs" instead of "I want about a dozen eggs". --- http://www.larousse.fr/dictionnaires/francais-anglais/douzaine/26535 douzaine [duzεn] nom féminin 1. [douze] dozen 2. [environ douze] une douzaine de a dozen, around twelve une douzaine d'escargots a dozen snails une douzaine de pages about ou roughly twelve pages ---------------------------- http://www.collinsdictionary.com/dictionary/french-english/dizaine English translation of douzaine douzaine (duzɛn ) Translations feminine noun (= 12) "dozen" " ⇒ une douzaine d'œufs" "a dozen eggs" (= environ 12) une douzaine "a dozen or so" une douzaine de "about twelve", "a dozen or so" une douzaine de personnes "about twelve people" --------------------------------------------------------------- From above: une douzaine d'escargots a dozen snails (Larousse) une douzaine d'œufs a dozen eggs (Collins) (Unfortunate that both items start with vowels, thus d' instead of de. I doubt that makes a difference between "about a dozen" and "a dozen.) -------------------------------------------------------------- Help appreciated her. Thanks.

Prochain vs SuivantI get confused between prochain and suivant. The next day is le jour suivant, but the next summer is l'ete prochain, right? How do I know when to use what? Thanks.

present/pastFrom a writing challenge: "I've always done it like that. If I changed now you wouldn't find them anymore" -> "J'ai toujours fait comme ça. Si je CHANGEAIS maintenant, tu ne les trouverais plus". Why should we use l'imparfait (changeais) when talking about something one might do now/maintenant, why not le présent ? (Yes, I know it mirrors the English "changed", but English is not my native language either)
