'à quoi' et 'dont'
This question relates to:French lesson "À + qui, auquel, à laquelle = to whom, what, which (French Relative Pronouns)"
Asked 2 years ago
Bonjour Katie,
Simply put, "à quoi" means "about what". When asking questions, you can use "à quoi". See the following examples:
Tu penses à quoi ? = What are you thinking about? -> answer: Je penses à ... = I am thinking that...
À quoi ça sert ? = What does it do? / What's the point ? -> answer: Ça sert à ... = It is used for... / the point is...
"Dont" is a relative pronoun and has many uses:
Duquel/de laquelle/desquels/desquelles with prepositional phrases with "de"
I hope this is helpful.
Bonne journée !
