I wrote 'rencontrerez' for the future of the verb rencontre, & I got it right in the fill-in-the-blank exercise Horoscope de l'année (Le Futur); however, it doesn't seem to fit into the pattern for either regular -er and -ir verbs in the future or -re and -dre verbs in the future, and it directed me to this page, so I'm confused.

'rencontre' in the future in Horoscope de l'année
This question relates to:French lesson "Conjugate -dre and -re verbs in the future tense in French (Le Futur Simple)"
Asked 2 years ago
Hi Sydney,
I think the lack of the final -r to the infinitive of the verb 'rencontrer' ( to meet ) is what is throwing you.
"To form Le Futur (Simple) of regular -er or -ir verbs, you keep the infinitive form of the verb and then add the following endings: -ai, -as, -a, -ons, -ez, -ont "
taken from the following Kwiziq lesson -
Conjugate regular -er and -ir verbs in the future tense in French (Le Futur Simple)
It conjugates exactly the same as 'manger'.
Bonne continuation ?

The infinitive is rencontrer, not rencontre. ‘Rencontrer’ is a regular -er verb. https://www.lawlessfrench.com/verb-conjugations/rencontrer/
