"À tout à l'heure !" are there alternitives ?

Would "À bientôt !" be an acceptable answer?

Hi Robert,

Technically 

à tout à l'heure /à plus tard = see you in a bit ( within a short time scale on the same day)

à bientôt /à très bientôt = see you (very) soon ( some time in the near future)

There are several - including '(à) tout de suite' not at all uncommon; '(à) (très) bientôt' - especially when the departure is for a short period to do something limited and specific. 

Both commonly used as walking out the door to do the bins, duck quickly to the boulanger etc
