adding accents with keyboard
Hi Michael,
You might also find this Kwiziq page helpful -

You don't but there are various online sites that allow you to enter accents either by mouse or repeated key press.
For Kwiziq, hold the key down to get the options.
Depends on your OS, but this link should help
https://www.lawlessfrench.com/faq/type-accents/Checked on my pc.. I tried using the Canadian layout for my keyboard but it looses too much and still cannot do an ê or ö
Try Typeit.. https://french.typeit.org/ An online window which has both a mouse accent picker and, repeating a key cycles through the accents... then cut and paste.
But, Kwiziq is set up for accents.. just hold a key down to see the choices (thanks Aurélie)
I'm not sure if I was the original person asking this, but I have a Mac. Apple makes it very easy to do foreign languages. It works the same way Kwiziq does: That is, Hold the letter key down for accent options.
The iPad works the same way.. a pc simply machine guns out the letter
On an iPad you can change the keyboard to French azerty in General Settings. The layout takes a little getting used to, but common accents are even easier - you just tap ‘ after the vowel (for é, à, î and û)
