Afficher vs montrer

Question

In this sentence “ l’un des montants qui sont affichés sur l'écran”, could you use montrés instead of affichés.Thanks

Even though they both mean "to show", montrer and afficher are different:
- with montrer, you're actively directing someone's attention to something often for their benefit or understanding
Marc a montré ses photos de vacances à tous ses collègues. = Marc showed his holiday photos to all his colleagues.
Mamie m'a montré comment faire une omelette. = Grandma showed me how to make an omelette.
Paul a montré Chloé du doigt. = Paul pointed at Chloé.
- with "afficher", you're making something visible
Le message d'erreur s'est affiché à l'écran. = The error message appeared on the screen.
Le montant s'affiche sur l'écran. = The amount is displayed/appears on the screen.
Hélène affiche un sourire forcé. = Hélène is putting on a forced smile.
