Alors ve Donc

Bonjour .

Me being a beginner of the language French, usage of Alors and Donc baffles me.

Can someone help me of how to use both these in practical context.

Merci Beaucoup

Hi Minhaz,

This is a question that is often asked and is often dependent on context.

Take a  look at my answer to Phillida -

Hope it helps!

Hi Minhaz,

1) Alors is an adverb    "dans ce cas"    "en conséquence"

Eg. You don't want my help?    I'll leave you to it then.

I have noticed in everyday speech this term being used as a kind of speech filler.

2) Donc (conjunction) "par conséquent"  therefore, thus, so

Again, in everyday speech where in English slang we may say "yeh" "whatever" even when not entirely appropriate.

However

Best wait to see what Céline can add as the resident staff francophone expert.
