That's an excellent question! When giving alternatives, 'and' can be translated by 'ou' instead of 'et' (and / as well as).

J'ai le choix entre la vanille ou la fraise = I have the choice between vanilla and strawberry

Il faut que je choisisse entre boire ou conduire = I have to choose between drinking and driving
