Are both of them correct and both can be used equally?

- Je me suis arrêtée d’aller à la salle de sport.

- J'ai arrêté d'aller à la salle de sport.

[I stopped going to the gym.]

Yes, both are possible. I don't see a difference in meaning either, but maybe a French native can chime in on this.
