Both forms correct?

Hello, I translated "she misses Jacques" as "Jacques manque à elle". It was marked wrong, and the correct answer is "Jacques lui manque". Why am I wrong?

Bonjour Amy,

Take a look at the tip below:

You cannot use manquer à + indirect pronoun:
Je manque à lui  -> Je lui manque.

Therefore, you cannot say: "Jacques manque à elle"

Instead, you should say:

"Jacques lui manque".

I hope this is helpful.

Bonne journée !
