"car je n'aurai pas à aller travailler."

"car je n'aurai pas à aller travailler."

I would have expected devoir to be used here instead of avoir. Could someone clarify? Maybe I'm not understanding the tenses clearly. Thanks!

Bonjour Elysia,

Firstly, I have to confess to not having carried out the test.

The exercise relates to a recent retirement situation and the speculation that life will now become more relaxed without the imperative "to go to work".

So I see this as a "futur simple" form of avoir with aller and "(travailler) work" as the direct object. "Because I will not have to go to work"

I hope this helps.

Bonne Journée

Jim
