In one of the test the question is:
"Désolé, j'ai oublié mon argent. - Oh, ________." Sorry, I forgot my money. -Oh, it's not a problem.
The correct answer given was «Ça ne fait rien.»
Why couldn't i say "Ce n'est pas un problème" ?

Hi Jub,
You will use
'Ça ne fait rien '
for
It doesn't matter / It's not a big deal
or even -
Ce n'est pas grave
rather than 'ce n'est pas un problème'.
Expressions using the word 'problème' include -
Pas de problème! Sans problème! = No problem!
or
Ce n'est pas mon problème = It is not my problem
Hope this helps!
You can, of course, say one of a hundred replies that would all be right. It's just that the lesson is about the particular phrase ça ne fait rien. So you're supposed to train that phrase.
