Why is tout le monde correct but not chacun? Both are pronouns

Hi John,

I haven't been able to see the actual text that you are querying so am unaware of context, but 

"chacun / chacune"  refers to "each" of us/them/you,  whereas   "tout le monde" refers to everyone or everybody.
