Hi Capricia,

You will use the expression 'de rien' when someone thanks you for doing something for them, you will answer 'de rien', meaning, 'you're welcome', 'don't mention it'.

Merci de m'avoir emmené au cinéma -----> De rien /Je vous en prie

But if someone asks you to do something -

Vous pouvez m'emmener au cinéma ? ----> Pas de soucis/Pas de problème

You wouldn't say 'de rien' in this instance.

De rien means "you're welcome" and not "don't worry" or "no problem".
