donc je vais me régaler - meaning

I am trying to figure out the English translate for 'donc je vais me régaler'

Does it mean:

1) so I am going to enjoy.

2) so I am going to feast.

Hi Ting,

When associated with food as in this exercise, the verb 'se régaler' is always tricky to translate. To really enjoy is the closest , but it actually means a lot more in French, like -

' I am going to really enjoy this delicious food, it's going to be a real treat!'

which is not quite to feast in English as it could be said about a simple dish that you really enjoy eating.

Hope this helps!

"To feast" doesn't capture accurately what se régaler means. "To enjoy" suits better.
