Why can’t we say je l’écoute sur Boucle instead of en boucle ?

This is just the way it is, no particular reason the expression is -

Écouter en boucle =to listen on repeat

Hi Manpreet kaur,

As I understand it "La boucle" in this context is an information/iteration loop in computing type terms?

If I'm correct then it would not make sense to be "on" such a loop in a physical sense (sur).

This is why I think that "en" would be the most appropriate preposition.
