How many does she buy?

At the end of the conversation the Aunt says the mirrors are too cute.   Then she says "I'll take them."   How many does she want to buy for her niece??  I would have expected her to say "I'll take one"  Or does "Je les prends !" not mean I'll take them.  I'm confused.

Hi Stuart,

'Ils sont trop mignons ( les petits mirroirs avec la Tour Eiffel).... je les prends' , says the text -

They are so ( here trop means so very much ) cute ...I 'll take them.

You heard correctly I do agree that logically 'Je vais en prendre un' or 'J'en prends un' would have been a better answer but maybe Je les prends was chosen for grammatical input at that level...

Hope this helps!

I am sure the experts will respond in due course but I took this to mean "they are so cute" and that for some reason she wants more than one, perhaps all of those shown to her.
