Could 'les infos' be substituted by ' l'actualité ' or ' nouvelle ' Thanks

Bonjour Andrea,

You could use "les actualités" but "les info/informations" is the best option. However, "les nouvelles" is used with "entendre" rather than "voir": entendre la nouvelle / les nouvelles = to hear the news. It also has a more generic sense.
