Inverted questions.

The question was "Fais-tu la vaisselle" (no question mark or full stop). Because there was no question mark, I put "Do the dishes." The answer was "Are you doing the dishes?".  I know it was supposed to be a question, but was not asked as a question.  So, I think I should be marked correct.

Please advise.

Hi Owen,

This has caused problems before but it was deemed necessary to leave the question mark out as it made the answers too obvious.

The inversion of subject and verb is always a question and cannot be translated as an imperative as you suggest -

Do the dishes! Fais/faîtes la vaisselle !

So it cannot be marked correct.

Bonne Continuation !
