Is there a liaison in the sentence Je vais à la poste?
I read that a liaison is "forbidden" before the letter a, yet I have heard it used on a french study program for the foreign services. What is the correct usage?
Thank you.

Bonjour M,
I have never heard of a forbidden liaison before the letter a, and as a French native, I could give you so many exceptions that I don't think this rule exists :)
As for "Je vais à la poste.", there is a liaison there, even though it could be considered as 'well-spoken' and most people wouldn't pronounce it in everyday speech.
I hope that's helpful!
À bientôt !
