Unlike the examples in the explanation materials, THE question /answer is incorrect. The review materials limit the number of people to one actor and one actress (only two people). In the exam question, their is an unknown number of people (could be 100) therefore the person speaking is unknown.

'Je suis acteur.'' Who is speaking?
This question relates to:French lesson "Job titles differ in French depending on whether you're a man or a woman (nouns)"
Asked 4 months ago
Bonjour Larry,
Maarten is correct! I checked the test question and everyhting is in order.
"Je suis acteur" means one person is talking (using the first person of the singular, i.e je -> I -> only one person is talking) and the form of the word "acteur" indicates that he's a male actor.
I hope this is helpful.
Bonne journée !

Larry,
The subject pronoun ‘ je ‘ is first person singular. The speaker is male, as indicated by ‘ acteur ‘.
Without the details of the question and answer presented, not sure what else could be at issue, but it is clear from the statement as given that a ( one ) male actor is the speaker of this sentence.
