What are the guidelines for using ‘l’exposition’ over ‘l’exhibition’, because up until now I have always used ‘l’exposition’ to describe an exhibition. In fact, I thought ‘l’exposition’ was unique for exhibition.

L’exposition vs l’exhibition
This question relates to:French writing exercise "The LU Tower in Nantes"
Asked 1 year ago
Hi Anita,
The French word 'exposition' ( often shortened to 'expo' ) is the only one used for an exhibition of ware.
The French word 'exhibition' comes from the verb 'exhiber' (to show off/ to parade) and if you take a look at the following page you will see how it is used -

Hope this helps!
