“la pression dues”

“la pression dues”

Could you say a few words about “dues”? Is it the past participle of “devoir” being used as an adjective with [f.pl] agreement? Why is it there in this sentence?

Hi Brian,

The text says -

".... la chaleur, la pression dues ...causées par le feu. "

The speaker changes his mind and uses the better expression 'causées par'  ( caused by the effect instead of due to the effect of)

Here is a good page with this use of this expression which you might find useful -

Bonne Continuation!
