What exactly does this phrase mean? I translate something like "Like a good granny cake". What is a granny cake?
mamie gateau

Hi Kathleen,
Just to add to Maarten's answer, we also use the expression
papa /maman gâteau
for
a doting father /mother
but papa gâteau can be used for a
sugar daddy
with different connotations but the same sentiment when it refers to an older man who spoils a young woman.
Bonne Continuation!

Not a cake at all ! It is a «mamie» who spoils you ! Don't they all ?
