My dictionary gave me a choice of "hacher" or "couper" to chop vegetables and yet neither was given as an alternative. It also said that "to store in the fridge" could be "conserver au frigo". Again I was marked wrong. Please explain your reasoning.
Marked wrong for dictionary response.

Bonjour Patricia,
The verb 'hacher' is actually to mince, normally used for meat, and using a machine.
You could use 'couper', but it would normally be used with 'en morceaux ' (into pieces), en dés ( into cubes), en julienne ( into thin strips), specifying the shape you were looking for.
As for 'conserver au frigo', this is correct, as is 'dans le frigo'.
Bonne Continuation !
