MARKING PROSE

Do you lose 2 marks for each error you make in the translations?

Bonjour Frances and Anne,

Anne is correct about Kwiziq's marking system for the writing and listening exercises.

@Anne, I will pass on your last comment about an explanation of the marking system to the rest of the team.

Also, because these types of exercises are self-marking, there is not good or bad marking. I would say that taking 2 marks off per mistake seems a little harsh. I would also suggest for any typos, take 0.5 off but take no mark off for punctuation.

I hope this is helpful.

Bonne journée !

Both the writing and listening exercises are self-marked, so it’s up to you! If you don’t award yourself stars at the end of each section, you will drop points. Some people prefer to do the exercises unmarked, so it is possible to proceed to the next inadvertently without marking. I don’t really understand why there isn’t a prominent explanation of the marking system at the beginning of the exercise or in the home pages or FAQ’s.
