"Nous mettrons la table après avoir préparé le dîner" vs. "Nous mettrons la table après que nous aurons préparé le dîner"

I was marked wrong for typing the latter response. Is this because the subject (nous) does not change? Therefore the second part of the sentence must remain in the infinitive?

This is because this lesson teaches you the expression -

after doing something = après avoir fait quelque chose

These kwiz questions are not free speech exercises and only drill this particular expression.
