Why are these 2 words "fascine and intimide"  not written in the passé composé.

Hi Nancy,

There is a grammatical reason for this and it is because of the word 'depuis'.

The text says -

"Depuis qu'elle est toute petite, cet instrument la fascine et l'intimide à la fois"

But even if you didn't know this, the prompt did use the present tense as a hint.
