Is it correct to place puissant after the noun in this sentence? In which case puissant will precede noun?
In this case, you can only put 'puissants' after the noun as you wouldn't split beaucoup de and amis, it would sound very clumsy.
But you might say -
C'est une puissante voiture
C'est une voiture puissante.
Although attributive adjectives will normally follow the noun ( un chat noir, une fille intelligente, etc.), as the lesson indicates, some BANGS ( beauty- age- number- goodness - size ) adjectives will precede them.
Puissant, however, seems to have a mind of its own...
