"quelle rare connexion on a !"

Why is the word order "Quelle rare connexion" and not "Quelle connexion rare" ?

Bonjour Elysia,

In French,'rare'  keeps essentially the same meaning whether it comes before or after the noun - it means 'rare' or 'uncommon' in both positions.

This makes it different from adjectives like 'grand, 'pauvre,' or 'ancien, ' which dramatically change meaning based on position.

You can say either:

'un rare talent'

or

'un talent rare'

Both mean the same thing, 'a rate talent', though there's a subtle stylistic difference - placing it before the noun (which is less common for 'rare') adds slightly more emphasis or a more literary tone.

Bonne Continuation!

Thank you Cécile! I haven't done the C1 lessons yet but I'm wondering if there is a lesson on adjectives that could go either before or after the noun with more subtle distinctions? Two other examples that come to mind are célèbre and fameux. If it doesn't exist yet, it would be great to have this. Thanks!
