"qui fait honneur à ce beau pays."Why isn't "rendre fier" correct?

You wouldn’t use ‘rendre fier’ here, as it is used for people .
You could say -
Ça me rend fier d’être française = It makes me proud to be French 
Mes enfants me rendent fière d’être leur mère = My children make me proud to be their mother
