Rappeler structure of explanation

The explanation of this concept has bothered me for a long time as the very first person/object is ignored and the lesson deals basically with the structure after ‘rappeller’ but what about the Il in Il rappelé son marie à Alice? It would be helpful to say He reminds Alice of her husband. Three persons are involved here the person who does the reminding, Alice and her husband.
